Look To God

 Look to God,
man cannot save souls.
He will always have your back.
Still pray, even though you’ve sinned.

He will forgive you
because His love for you is never-ending.
You are His creation –
His sons and daughters.

As a people, we live our lives in fear.
Fear of everything man can do to us
if we do this or that.
That is one of
the worst things we can do.

Fear for what God
will do to us on judgment day
should be our only concern
while we are still given a chance
to make the right decision.

1 John 1:9 KJV
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to
cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Romans 3:23 KJV
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.

Patience = Time = Faith

Praying is a must;
a requirement
from where I stand in my life.
However, it wasn’t always like that.

I’ve been mad enough at God,
countless times not to pray
and each time I fell into that trap,
it took some time to realize
that I was making a big mistake.

Prayer is essential in life.
None goes unheard.
Patience. Faith. Time.

Because of society…

I forget to live.
I forget to breathe.
I forget to laugh.
I forget to pray.

I scream more.
I yell more.
I see more bad than good.

I am blessed.
I am loved.
This life is only temporary.

I am human
And that does not seem to be enough.
Somehow I need to be more of a demi god.
That’s what society says.

God is never far.
I think about Him everyday.
That’s one thing society will never take away from me.

Custom Built Chains

Somewhere in her mind
She thinks. She feels.
Wanting with all her might
to claim her innocence back; to be
pure and clean again.
The urge. The need
to travel back to the womb
where her love knew no boundary.

The world changed her. She became
another crowd pleaser. Far from
being herself, she’s trapped
in the rat game of life.
There, she will remain a prisoner
until she allows God to free her
from the chains she custom built.

Less Is More

The more materialistic things I long for,
the less happier I become.
It just pollutes the natural odor of my life.
the world; modernization

The more simply things I desire,
the happier I feel, inside and out.
It’s my heart speaking out.
God; traditional

Passionate About God

They looked like crazy old women,
with a couple of screws missing,
having conversations about the goodness of God
in an old, broken down laundromat.
God had done many great things for them.

The first old lady,
was blossoming in her faith.

She credited everything she has to Him.
He saved her from herself and so many things.

The second old lady,
quotes the Bible like it’s her best friend.

She just loves the Word of God,
she reads it every day and
can quote just about any scripture.

The third old lady,
used to be a pastor.

Somewhere along the way,
she left the church.

She didn’t really say why
but Jesus is still at the top of her list.

She doesn’t want people
to remain ignorant to the Word of the Lord,
that she was quite adamant about.

As I listen to these old ladies speak,
sometimes yelling to get their points across,
I had to question my own relationship with Him
and how much I knew and lived in His Word.

I’ve back-slided more than a few times.
I’ve been so angry with God sometimes
that I won’t pray for months.
I’m not as strong in my faith as I should be
but can’t nobody tell me that God isn’t real.
He has my back no matter what.
Can’t nobody tell me Jesus doesn’t save lives
cause He’s saved mine plenty of times.
I’m still trying to blossom my mustard seed faith cause
I know that’s all it takes to move a mountain.
