I lit my entire existence on fire today,
cleansed my soul with a bit of laughter
It was an effortless day
I laughed and felt like a kid; it was fun,
Priceless and refreshing
I had to wipe that frown off my face today
I didn’t want to go another day
dragging the world on my shoulders
when it’s not even my cross to bear
I’m great at being me
and you’re great at being you
That is what’s so special about me

I don’t like it when you’re around too much

it is the hardest key to relocate.
Emotions drive people to crazy things
I’ve learned to start giving things
a few days or weeks
before making a decision; these past
few months have been the hardest; it felt
like my entire world was falling apart, but
as time goes by, I can see
everything is beginning to fall into place
the weight of the world is being lifted
off my shoulders now
I can breathe a little easier.
A beautiful mess,
that is the sum of my life.
Everything is as it should be
Though most of the time,
it does not seem to be enough for my acquired taste…
On the real
I can’t complain,
I’ve got it better than most
Not to boast, no way,
I’m humbled
Saying no
It is never easy but
understand that it’s OK
to say that dreaded word
That’s a lesson I’m still learning.
I’m always quick to say yes to everything
And then end up second-guessing
after caving in to the pressure
that comes with pleasing others
I do what I think is expected of me
Each breath is a struggle.
Every day we’re on the battleground
dodging bullets to survive another day.
I’d rather keep my soul
than lose it to the world
In fact, I don’t want to gain the world at all
The price is far greater than
I’m willing to pay
