It sounds unnatural to say I love you.
It’s unexpected when we hug
usually, by a force of hand
When we glimpse each other in the eye,
it’s rare. We talk at each other,
not the other way around.
We listen with our mouths wide open
and never with our ears.
It’s almost as if we are afraid of each other’s shadows,
but not completely,
we communicate in the darkness.
When we spend time together,
it’s disconnected and uncomfortable;
it feels like pulling teeth; too hot to handle.
We seldom acknowledge each other,
although we confess our closeness.
