Put The Phone Down

Joined at the hips, your phone understands you
more than anything else around you,
your device has become your brain
and thinking for you, it does with style.

Writing by hand is a chore;
texting is the new pen and paper.
The universe is in your hands.

This thing is very addictive always on your mind
you’re continually glancing at the screen,
you have no life; it covers every territory.
You spend so much time together,
an encouraging family member.

Tired eyes. Short on sleep.
Fighting the “I will miss something if I put this
phone down or turn it off in case of an emergency”
mentality, a brilliant trick to imprison the mind.
