Invisible

It’s a crowded room, but I feel invisible. I see
people staring at me, but I don’t think
they can see my silhouette. Everyone is communicating,
asking questions, so I attempt to contribute,
a foolproof way of pulling me out of
my comfort zone but, they do not seem
to hear the whisper in my voice, loud in my head
celebration, they talk over me while I sink back
into my chair and pretend to be invisible.
