Left Behind

Die to self-centered self.
Die to worldly pleasures.
Permanent traps are they.
Temporary pleasures, certainly.
Unnecessary lifestyle,
too full of self.

If only, we understood
and could get it through
our thick, little skulls that
these man-made promises
will not make the final journey.

They will all be left behind
for the next generation to fight over.
