Long Way To Go

I’ve got a lot to learn about life; I’m far from
the finish line, but eventually, I’ll get there. I won’t
let anything or anyone discourage me
from finishing my race. The distractions
and the naysayers are just a part of the mission.

Simply Appreciate

I am grateful for what’s on my plate I’ve learned
to appreciate all that I am blessed to have
God knows my limitations He’ll add or take away
as He sees fit no need to stay up and lose sleep
at night wondering if I have what it takes
to make it to the next level.

The Last Resort

Ears closed
eyes blind
lips sealed
noses compromised.

Everything looks/feels/tastes the same
people are hungry for anything
that does not include God;
He is always the last resort.

The world is their playground
only when reality bites back do they
remember Him for a quick fix.

Out Of Options To Sin

I do not want to die in my sin;
that much is clear. I’ve already done
everything the good book says not to fall prey to
and made every excuse in the book
for why I did this or that dumb thing
—I’m out of options to sin.

Humbled, I stand before God
weeping on my bended knees
only He can save me.

Be Vigilant

Demons go to church too; there’s no shame
in their game they know about God too,
and they fear Him don’t be foolish
be vigilant. If the message preached is not edifying,
grab your possessions and run, don’t look back,
no explanation needed for your sudden departure
your soul is in danger if you stay.

If God Is In The Midst

If God is in the midst, He will show up
every single time. Put all of your trust in Him,
and you will never go without necessities,
you’ll have insurance for eternity
premium paid in full. If God is in the midst,
He will show up every single time. Put all of your trust
in Him, and you will never go without necessities,
you’ll have insurance for eternity
premium paid in full.

Wide And Overcrowded Road

As loyal followers of Jesus Christ, we cannot let
the self-centered world set the stage for us.
God’s people must decrease in that manner
so He may increase within us.

Just because the world’s stage lights are bright
and flashy does not mean we should forget
our morals for a second in the spotlight.

Just because the world prides itself on being
famous or worthy to receive praise
does not mean we should idolize its mediocrity.

Just because the world is a trendsetter
does not mean we should forget modesty
to make friends with modernization.

Just because the world is full of
academy award winners, actors and actresses
waiting for the camera to roll does not mean
we should stand up and applaud its stupidity.

God’s people must separate themselves
from the crowd take a sideroad from the broad
and overcrowded route that leads to destruction;
only a few will be strong enough to walk away.
