His promises of love and togetherness sounded
perfect, it felt like things were meant to be
between us, but then reality showed up
with a vengeance; those promises
turned out to be empty words, spoken
to satisfy the requirement of what
a man is supposed to say to keep a woman,
there were no actions to back them up.

there are many betrayers, but don’t let those that harm you take over your mind, in the old world, there was the demon who wanted to live in you, and the Eternal Lord who wanted to free you, it’s why forgiveness works, amen
