Compared To Someone Else

He cannot thoroughly think on his own accord
without incorporating other people’s ideas
as his viewpoints; his loved ones taught him
to compare himself to others; nothing
he ever did was good enough in their eyes,
and that’s all the life he knows; they always
labeled him as second-best compared
to someone else. He’s a brilliant young man,
but he does not know his worth or potential.
