What Comes Out

It’s better to empty your mind sometimes
it’s a relief to get things off your chest
but “letting it rip” comes with a price.
Words sting, bite and can be severely
damaging if not dispensed with care
what comes out is final, and you can’t
take back what got said in the moment
of your frustration; apologies won’t stop
the pain from bleeding.
