I struggle with forgiveness
from time to time; sometimes, I’d rather
carry my grudges to the grave than
to be the bigger person, but I’m often
too forgiving; I quickly forget my anger.

Well that would be a blessing. I remember hurts too well, and I confess I’m exhausted from forgiving again and again. It’s the one part of our Faith that drives me crazy–I don’t understand why, when I’ve done the right thing repeatedly, I’m still suffering the hurt….

That’s the human in us. I, too, go through the hurt repeatedly of past pain. The past has a way of resurfacing no matter what.
